WSU seeks volunteers for robotics competition
Wayne State University will serve as host for the second-annual Detroit FIRST Regional Robotics Competition, Thursday, March 17, through Saturday, March 19, at the Matthei Physical Education Center. Volunteers are needed for full and half-day shifts to manage check-in, greetings, first-aid desks and game reset.

The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. The competition will reach more than 20,000 students on more than 900 teams in 27 competitions around the world. Thirty-three high-school teams from the Detroit area will compete at WSU.

Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. All volunteers must fill out a form and be subject to a background check. Training sessions will be on Wednesday, March 16. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Jeff Block at (313) 577-2169.
