Lacusta, Simowski appointed
Michael Lacusta, former president of United Medical Management Inc., has been appointed executive vice president for strategic and business partnerships. In this role, Mr. Lacusta will facilitate identification, development and implementation of key strategic and business partnerships with and between the Detroit Medical Center, DMC hospitals, the Wayne State University Physician Group, private physicians and private health-care related companies. Previously, Mr. Lacusta had served as senior vice president and chief restructuring officer.

In addition, Kevin Simowski has been recruited to serve as executive director of customer service. He has been charged with instituting local and system-wide initiatives to position DMC hospitals and facilities as the most customer friendly in the region. Previously, Mr. Simowski was chief of the criminal justice bureau with the Michigan Department of Attorney General, where he worked for more than 20 yea
