The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently published its Medicare inpatient rehabilitation facility proposed rule for FY 2008 in the Federal Register.  Under the proposed rule, payment rates to IRFs would be updated by an increase factor equal to the rehabilitation, psychiatric, and long-term care hospital market basket of 3.3 percent.  The final rule would take effect Oct. 1.
