AAMC leader testifies before House on Medicare/Medicaid cuts

On May 15, Stanley Brezenoff, president and chief executive officer of New York City's Continuum Health Partners and a member of the AAMC's Council of Teaching Hospitals Advisory Board, testified before the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health on Medicare payments to hospitals and post-acute providers.  Representing the AAMC and the Greater New York Hospital Association, Brezenoff's testimony opposed the Bush administration's proposal to eliminate teaching hospitals' indirect medical education payments for treating Medicare Advantage beneficiaries and all Medicaid funding for graduate medical education.
