AAMC holds workforce research conference

The AAMC hosted its third annual Physician Workforce Research Conference May 2-4.  Leading national and international workforce experts shared data on trends in physician supply and demand, distribution of medical specialties and physicians, women in the physician workforce, efforts to increase diversity, and state and rural workforce issues.  Harvard professor David Cutler, M.D., author of "Your Money or Your Life: Strong Medicine for America's Health Care System," delivered the keynote address.  The conference was jointly sponsored by the AAMC and Harvard Medical School, Department of Continuing Education.  It was supported in part by an unrestricted educational grant from The New England Journal of Medicine.
