The Detroit Medical Center's smoke-free policy will take effect Sunday, July 1. Employees, physicians, patients, visitors, contractors and anyone else on DMC property will not be able to smoke inside or outside of DMC buildings, on pathways to and from DMC buildings, in Brush Mall, parking lots or in personal vehicles parked in DMC parking lots and structures. Smoking will also be prohibited in DMC-owned vehicles (on or off campus).
