Poll shows public divide on stem cells, physician-assisted suicide

The results of a Gallup Poll released June 4 showed wide public support for medical research using stem cells obtained from human embryos, and a deep divide regarding the perceived morality of doctor-assisted suicide. Sixty-four percent of those polled found stem cell usage for medical research morally acceptable, while 30 percent found it morally wrong. Just under half (49 percent) of Americans polled called doctor-assisted suicide morally acceptable, while 44 percent called it morally wrong.
