Criminal background check pilot begins

The AAMC has launched a pilot program at 10 medical schools that will test a
new criminal background check system for medical school applicants. The checks will take place as part of the normal medical school applications cycle for the 2008 entering class. If the pilot program is successful, the system will be rolled out nationwide in mid-2008 for the 2009 entering class.
