Charity: Parade parking; Kid's Christmas Party; Adopt-A-Family; Magazine donations; CHM raffle; CHM holiday cards

Parade parking to benefit CHM
Thanksgiving Day Parade-goers can park their car close to Woodward and help a good cause at the same time. Proceeds from the Mack parking deck, on the north side of Mack Avenue between Woodward Avenue and Beaubien Street, on Thanksgiving Day will benefit the Children's Hospital of Michigan Intensive Care Transport Team. Parking costs $7 per car and will include a goodie bag for each car parked, including two gate tickets for the Festival of Trees. The parking deck, which is open to the public, will open at 7 a.m. For more information on supporting Children's Hospital or its Intensive Care Transport Team, please call (313) 745-8890.

Volunteers needed to help with Kids Christmas Party
The Wayne County Medical Society is sponsoring the Kids Christmas Party at the Detroit Science Center on Saturday, Dec. 11. Volunteers are needed to help fill bags from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 10, at the Detroit Science Center. Adopt a family for Christmas
The Children's Hospital of Michigan Social Work Department is sponsoring its annual Adopt-a-Family for Christmas Program. This program has helped hundreds of needy children and families enjoy the holiday season. For more information or to participate, please contact Janet Nunn at jnunn@dmc.org.

Magazine donations still welcome
Harper University Hospital is looking for current magazines to share with patients and visitors. When you have finished reading a magazine, please drop it off at the Harper Library or the Volunteer Services office, 5 Webber Core, Suite 5351. The program is looking for a wide variety of magaines, including Woman's Day, Essence, Reader's Digest, Ebony, Sports Illustrated, Jet, Good Housekeeping, Time and Newsweek.

Raffle for CHM offers vacations, shopping
The Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association is selling raffle tickets to benefit the Children's Hospital of Michigan. Prizes include a $5,000 "Plan Your Own Dream Vacation," two $2,500 shopping sprees at the Somerset Collection, a seven-night all-inclusive trip for two to the Bahamas and a seven-night all-inclusive trip for two to Jamaica. Drawings will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16, but you do not need to be present to win. Tickets are $5 each and are available for purchase from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the CHM Development Department. CHM holiday cards now available
The Children's Hospital of Michigan Auxiliary is selling holiday cards that feature an embossed gold foil design of "Jake and Ellie" holding a holiday wreath. A pack of 15 cards with envelopes is $18. Imprinting is available. To purchase, stop by the Something Special Gift Shop. Proceeds from the sale of the cards and other gift-shop items benefit patient programs at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
