AAMC presents suggestions for informed consent documents

Suggestions on informed consent documents, developed at an AAMC strategic planning meeting, were recently presented to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services by the AAMC. The recommendations, which cover clinical research projects and, among other things, call for directly focusing informed consent documents on research questions while using a toolkit of supplemental materials for patient education, were well received by the HHS Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections.
