AAMC offers feedback on Bayh-Dole

The AAMC and three other academic associations sent a letter recently to the House Committee on Science and Technology affirming support for the Bayh-Dole Act, which set standards for intellectual property rights in university research, among other things. The letter states that Bayh-Dole has made a "substantial contribution to U.S. economic growth and competitiveness," but notes other issues affecting academic collaboration with industry, including freedom to publish and conflict-of-interest management.
