In related news, Ashley Schiavone, a research assistant working in Dr. David Rosenberg's laboratory, has learned that she has won the "Mind and Life Summer Research Institute 2006 Scholarship." The institute made a special exception for Ms. Schiavone because this highly competitive scholarship normally is not open to research assistants. Ms. Schiavone plans to go to graduate or medical school, possibly at Wayne State University, upon completing her research assistant post.
