Post-doctoral student publishes paper

Frank MacMaster, a WSU post-doctoral fellow working with David Rosenberg, M.D., in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences, recently published a paper in Biological Psychiatry. The paper, which was co-authored with Dr. Rosenberg, who is Miriam L. Hamburger Endowed Chair of Child Psychiatry, was entitled "Pituitary Volume in Treatment-naive Pediatric Major Depression." The study found that depressed children differ from age- and sex-matched healthy children in the size of the pituitary. Boys were more affected than girls, and distinct alterations were noted in the pituitary of children with a family history of depression vs. depressed children with no obvious family history of mood disorder.
