Scott Gruber, M.D., recently reported that the data from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients showed that during the past four years the Wayne State University/Harper University Hospital Solid-Organ Transplant Program ranked within the top 10 percent of the 250 renal transplant programs in the nation with regard to high-risk factors that predict a poorer transplant outcome. In addition, despite the challenges presented by these high-risk transplants, the length of stay for patients was one of the best in the country: three days for those who received transplants from deceased donors and five days for those who received transplants from living donors.
