Neurology reports accomplishments

Robert Lisak, M.D., chair of the WSU Department of Neurology, recently reported that faculty members provided 16 presentations at the 2005 American Academy of Neurology's annual meeting. In addition, William Coplin, M.D., WSU associate professor of neurology, was elected chair-elect of the academy's Section on Critical Care and Emergency Neurology. Dr. Coplin lectured at the meeting on "Critical Decision Making in the Emergency Department." Omar Khan, M.D., WSU associate professor of neurology, co-chaired a session on clinical trials for multiple sclerosis, while Seemant Chaturvedi, M.D., WSU associate professor of neurology, co-chaired a session on the clinical aspects of stroke. In a separate matter, Dr. Chaturvedi recently was interviewed by Neurology Today, a publication of the American Academy of Neurology, on the topic of carotid endarterectomy and stenting.
