Dr. Markova elected director of Michigan Academy of Family Physicians

Tsveti Markova, M.D., WSU assistant professor of family medicine and director of the WSU/DMC family medicine residency program, was elected a member-at-large director for the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians at its July 6 Annual Congress of Delegates meeting, at Grand Traverse Resort. The MAFP is an association of more than 3,200 Michigan family physicians whose mission is to promote health-care excellence and to improve the health of all Americans. Dr. Markova serves as chair of the academy's Committee on Public Health as well as the Residency Directors Committee and the Board of Directors. At WSU, she also is director of clinical operations for University Family Physicians-Detroit Family Medicine Center and interim vice chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences for clinical affairs.
