Medical students win prizes at Michigan ACP meeting

Itishree Trivedi, a third-year WSU medical student, won third prize at the Michigan Chapter of the American College of Physicians Annual Scientific Meeting, in Kalamazoo, for her oral research presentation entitled, "Effectiveness of Short Educational Interventions in Increasing Level of HIV Awareness among Rural Adolescent Girls in Rajasthan, India." Co-authors on the presentation were K.C. Joshi, M.D., and Diane Levine, M.D.

Dr. Gabe Solomon, a member of the WSU class of 2005, won second prize at the same meeting for his research poster entitled, "Manufacturer's Drug Assistance Program Enrollment at Hospital Discharge: An Opportunity Missed?" Dr. Gabe began his research while a senior student. Co-authors on the poster were Brent Williams, M.D., and Dr. Levine.
