Richard E. Gallagher, Ph.D., WSU professor of family medicine, has been appointed to the editorial board of the VirtualCancerCentre.com, a member of the Virtual Medical Centre of Australia. VirtualMedicalCentre.com integrates and supports an existing online national database consisting of more than 5,000 medical practitioners, hospitals, pharmacists and other allied health professionals, who receive communications and updates on a regular basis. The mission of the VMC is to educate primary-care physicians about emerging treatments for difficult conditions; allow patients to revisit information discussed in consultation; dispel myths and misconceptions; encourage compliance; provide accurate and up-to-date content; and assist in overcoming the difficulty of recruiting for clinical trials.
