The American Heart Association awarded Anna Valina Toth, a WSU School of Medicine M.D./Ph.D. student, a two-year, $52,000 postdoctoral fellowship for her project, "Hemodynamics Correlate of Vitamin D and Parathyroid Hormone in Normotensive African-Americans." Ms. Toth's mentor is John Flack, M.D., M.P.H., interim chair of the WSU Department of Internal Medicine. Toth's proposal, which scored in the top 1 percent of applicants, was one of 38 funded of 151. It was her first submission.
