WSU honors School of Medicine faculty

Zhou-Hua Pan, Ph.D., associate professor of anatomy and cell biology, received a WSU Career Development Chair Award. Dr. Pan is is researching how specific types of proteins found in nerve cell membranes function in transmitting electrochemical signals. He will use the fellowship to extend his studies of bipolar neurons and their interaction with other neurons.

Marilyn Wayland, Ph.D., professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation was honored with a WSU Alumni Faculty Service Award for writing successful grants to fund several community service programs, including Caregiver College, a six-week multidisciplinary health education program that is videoconferenced live.
