Dr. Weiss reports several achievements

Jayne Weiss, MD, WSU professor of ophthalmology, recently was appointed chair of the scientific program for the Eye Bank Association of America. The association, the oldest transplantation group in the United States, is a non-profit organization of eye banks dedicated to restoring sight through the promotion and advancement of eye banking. Since 1961, eye banks accredited by the EBAA have restored sight to nearly 1 million people.

In addition, Dr. Weiss was appointed to the board of directors of the Castroviejo Corneal Society, a national organization for corneal surgeons. Membership is based on research strengths.

Finally, the Academy of Ophthalmology recently published "Refractive Surgery." Dr. Weiss was an editor and author.
