Dr. Krawetz receives $1 million to fund MLSC center of excellence on environment's effect on genetics

Stephen Krawetz, PhD, WSU Charlotte B. Failing Professor of Fetal Therapy and Diagnosis, recently received a $1 million grant from the Michigan Life Sciences Corridor to study "Combating the paternal impact of toxicological waste on the next generation of Michiganders." The grant was one of 3 projects selected from a field of 27. The project, which includes partnerships with researchers at Michigan State University and the Van Andel Research Institute, will seek to evaluate environmental impact on gene transcripts present in sperm.
