Dr. Gleason-Comstock wins WOW grant

Julie Gleason-Comstock, Ph.D., a WSU assistant professor of community medicine, recently was awarded a research grant by the Women of Wayne Alumni Association to further her work on women and HIV. Dr. Gleason-Comstock's work focuses on women who are HIV positive and older than 50. Her study asks these women to describe their perceptions of past risk behaviors that led to HIV and assessing the impact of their interactions with primary-care providers. The research complements Dr. Gleason-Comstock's other surveys on physicians about aging women and HIV as well as an effort to develop a consumer behavior-physician communication model.
