Michigan families forced to live with sacrifices

In a story about the impact of gasoline prices on family budgets, Kurt Metzger, demographics expert in the Center for Urban Studies (CULMA), points out that price increases are most harmful to low-income residents in the Detroit metropolitan area. Cities such as Detroit and Highland Park have the highest concentrations of low-income persons and are not where service industry jobs are being created, he says.
