A holiday tree lighting celebration with an international theme will be held from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Thursday, December 10, on Gullen Mall at Wayne State University.

Five trees on the mall will be decorated with lights and banners will be flown on the university flagpoles. The Men's Glee Club and Women's Chorale will perform songs with holiday themes.

Students will be served free cider, hot chocolate and doughnuts.

"The lighting celebration is a way to build community on campus and provide students with a brief break before exams and a chance to enjoy some holiday cheer," said Julie Miller, assistant to President Irvin D. Reid.
