The American Academy of Pediatrics has published the second edition of Wayne State University School of Medicine Professor of Pediatrics Deepak Kamat, M.D., Ph.D.'s fifth Pediatric book.

"Quick Reference Guide for Pediatric Care," an American Academy of Pediatrics publication, is the go-to reference for everyone taking care of children. Dr. Kamat served as editor in chief for this edition and the first edition.

"It provides the pediatric resident, pediatrician, family physician and pediatric nurse practitioners information they need while seeing patients or in between patients without having to sift through mounds of information," Dr. Kamat said.

The 1,236-page book includes 190 chapters edited by Dr. Kamat.

"There are 15 associate editors who helped me put together this second edition," he said.

He is also an associate editor of AAP's "Textbook Pediatric Care" (first and second edition); editor in chief of "Pediatric Care On Line," an online publication updated every three months; lead editor of AAP's "Textbook of Global Child Health" (first and second edition); and editor of "Challenging Cases in Pediatric Diagnosis."
